Taking Your Breath, One Cloud at a Time

Okay, I was trolling about the backgrounds and themes offered by Windows 7 today and found this background image. I swear, when I brought it up on my background to see it in full size I gasped! It's one of the few images that has ever really taken my breath away. It may not be all that impressive to but I thought it was. Take a look at some amazing looking clouds and get back to me on the amazingness. Why don't you check out my poll to the left if you want something else to do after seeing the picture. And if you're bored after that you should check out my twitter account or other blog located in the left hand column. ;) Advertising for myself? Nah! But it'd make me immensely happy if you'd follow me on Twitter even though I don't get on there as much as most Twittererers do. Whatever, I still have. Okay, now I'm just babbling. I'm going to go, you're going to look at this picture and maybe loose your breath, go! By the way a magnifying glass can work as a good weapon if you're ever along on the bad side of town doing some sleuthing.

Tornado Cheescake

Cheesecake is magic. It's not precisely cheese, but it certainly isn't cake! And it can come in different flavors yet it keeps the same consistency (Can you tell I'm eating cheesecake right now?). I hope your Easter weekends were all enjoyable. If you or someone you know was effected by the tornadoes in the Mid-west over the weekend my heart goes out to you. Not literally considering that would be kind of disgusting and I think that it would be a little disturbing to open your mailbox to find a human heart sitting in there.

Anyway, we at my house were missed by the storm by only about two miles. We drove down the road a little and saw a few roofs torn off of barns and homes. We need some sunny days here! At least it needs to quit raining for at least a day. I think everything is adequately watered by now. -_-

I don't know if you found today's post exceedingly interesting. If anything, you found out that there were big storms and tornadoes in the Mid-West over the weekend! Because I have to go attempt to finish my science packet again I'll leave you at this. Did I mention before I hate finding epicenters on earthquakes? Particularly on science packets we're assigned? Huh, well now you know. -sigh- If you use it right paper can be lethal.

Ararat Anomaly

Sort of keeping to the theme I set up in yesterday's post about secret places and things I have another story for you! I have never heard of this before but that doesn't mean much. Apparently there's this thing called the Ararat Anomaly which is believed to be the remains of Noah's Ark. Chances are good you've hear the story of Noah's Ark: Giant flood was coming, Noah built a giant ark, two of every animal got on board, etc. etc. But the U.S. Air force got a picture of something looking very ark-like in the Ararat mountains. Ironically enough according to Wikipedia that's where it was said Noah's Ark came to rest. I'm not sure how reliable Wikipedia is so if you're very devoted you could look it up in Genesis 8:4.

Anyway, moving away from the Bible now. The picture below is of the anomaly itself.

Quite frankly, it looks like it could be a giant chunk of ice to me. But there is an ark-like quality to it. Why they don't just send out probes or people to excavate the area. They say every few years the ice melts enough so you can kind of see what looks like an ark. Go on one of those years! This may just be one of those things we'll never really know about. If you've heard more on this or look something else up feel free to send me more info on it! Bye for now. Keep your computer speakers off when you're not using them. They could easily be accessed by your enemies and converted into microphones for spying on you.

Lots of Links

I'm happy to report that today has been more normal than yesterday was. I also wanted to let you know you can follow me on Twitter if you want to. I don't really get on much but I do post random blips every so often. I'm going to start posting on there when I put up a new blog post, too. Follow if you want, make my day and increase my followers count from one to, oh, two. Go ahead, click it!!!  http://twitter.com/#!/Pineappleexplos

On an unrelated note, did you know there's a club in Disney? Yes, there is!! Apparently it's called Club 33 and located in Disneyland, California. From what I've read it's very exclusive. There may or may not be a fourteen year waiting list to it. If you want to read more on it I originally found out about the club here: http://listverse.com/2010/01/06/top-10-places-you-cant-go/  I'm certainly giving you a lot of links today, aren't I? Enjoy! And crossing your eyes is both harmful to your eyes and your state of mind.

Thursday Feels Weird

Today was sort of an odd one in the world of Nicole. First, our instructor in band was telling us about how she tells the high schoolers she teaches that they need to play something so beautifully the crowd will stand on their feet and "throw babies" (DISCLAIMER: No babies were harmed in the making of music. The aforementioned phrase was only a figure of speech used by my band instructor. Please, do not throw babies at me because I will look at you strangely and walk away)

The next weird thing was that I did not participate in today's track meet. I may or may not have mentioned before but I recently "strained my groin". So I had to watch everyone run and stuff while I got to sit and take pictures. Very exciting. And then there was a weird thing within this weird thing! While taking pictures I got to talk to two guys on my team (Whose names will not be mentioned since they won't be happy I'm even mentioning this) who explained to me what a pig's scream sounds like, what they would do if they were in the Hunger Games, and that they should've allowed guns in the Hunger Games. By the way, if you haven't read the Hunger Games series I really recommend it.

Finally, after limping around Deirbergs with my mom we heard from a cashier and the bagger that working lane 15 is just the worst. Note to self: if you ever work at Dierbergs do not under any circumstances work lane 15!

This blog post today even feels weird. I think I need to stop and just go eat some dinner since my stomach is growling presently. Let's try this again tomorrow. Okay? If you want to hide any secret notes I suggest stuffing it inside of a bottle of Ranch dressing. No one will suspect it there.

Groin Pains

Guess what I'm doing right now. Yeah, go ahead, guess. I bet you won't. Answer: I'm icing my "groin". See, I've had this pain wrapping around the top of my leg since last Thursday (our first track meet). So today after running ten freakin 300 meters with a 100 meter walk in between I told one of our coaches about how freakin much it hurt after I got done running. You know what he told me? "It sounds like you tweaked your groin." -sigh- When it comes to getting weird injuries I think I'm a pro. Just call me gimpy.

Though I don't think you're too interested in my odd leg injuries so I'll give this to you instead. Click this link for hours of enjoyment. I just found it and, if I had more time, would've played on it for a long time. Enjoy! Don't lick paper. Ever. P.S. Turn on your sound when you go to the link.

Tim Burton Music

I'd say that today was probably a big day for Pineapple Explosion! When I got into fourth hour today my friend told me that her entire third hour class had looked up and read my blog. It's good to know my presence is alive in there even when I'm not in that class. So if you're from Social Studies third hour reading this, yay! Thank you!

Anyway, we're playing this new piece in band now (yup, I'm a band geek) and I wanted to share it with you. Why? Because I thought it sounded like something that belonged in the score of a Tim Burton movie. It's called the Cluster, Fluster, Bluster March by David Holsinger. Once the woodwinds pop in it really does sound like something that he would use.
You may have to turn up the volume a little to hear them but this band sounded good. This is most certainly not the band I am a part of, these are high schoolers!! Please don't sue me, anyone. : )

I need to go look up different types of sleep since I'm a nerd so I'll leave you with that. One more day to vote on the poll! I'm also going to put up a few links to other blogs I find amusing. One in particular I find interesting but you'll have to check it our yourself! Good bye. Oh, and that thing you're looking for. You know, that one thing, it's under your sock drawer. Trust me.

Spring Pros and Cons

Do you know what a true spring food is? Strawberry angel food cake covered in whipped cream (Sadly not the cream kind but the aerosol can kind) and chopped strawberries. It's just like spring personified into a delicious and calorie filled desert. But the thing is, it doesn't taste calorie filled since the angel food cake is so light and fluffy and the strawberries are healthy! I can't say the same fore the whipped cream, however. But as I was eating my angel food cake this evening I was contemplating the origins of the name of the cake. I came to the conclusion that it is called such because the angel choir in heaven (or whatever paradise you believe in if you believe in one at all) sing as your piece of cake makes the perilous journey to your mouth. Ha, that would make an epic advertisement!

I'm sorry I've been so sporadic in my posting lately. I don't remember if I mentioned this in my kind of post the other day but I've been insanely busy. Posting hasn't been a priority lately. My days have mostly consisted of the following: reading, state testing, track meets/practices, eating, sleeping, and being tired. Don't forget about allergies, too! With great spring foods come awful spring allergies. See what I did there? That was a twist on the whole "With great power comes great responsibility"...I'll stop explaining my metaphors? My metaphors I guess, now.

I hope where ever you're reading this from has nice weather and is also TURNING GREEN! Adios winter! I bid thee farewell just as I bid you farewell. Try not to get anything disgusting on your hands before touching your computer keyboard/mouse. Other people have to use those too, you know. Even if you don't know it.

This is a post because I haven't posted in a while. So enjoy this non-posty post. Vote on my poll to amuse yourself! : )

The REAL Slim Shady

Happy April! Also a happy birthday to my mom while I'm at it. Hopefully it stays this nice outside all through the month, though I sincerely doubt it will. Tomorrow is supposed to get up to 80! I'm not kidding, it really is. Now if school would just end we'd be in good shape.

Have you ever had a song stuck in your head that just kept playing over and over again at one certain point? Well, that is how it's like in my head almost 24/7. This morning, because I didn't take my iPod with me, I ran a 5K (For a charity!) without music. It was crazy tiring and the whole time I had a really good song playing in my brain. Usually I get something that I hate like a Weird Al Yankovic song I've heard too much going at the most annoying part in my head. But this was actually nice to run to while thinking some maybe not so nice things about running and hills. Here's the song so you can get it in your head the next time you run a 5K:

Speaking of music, I read this not long ago on my friend's blog Magenta Lightbulb. Did you know that Eminem and Slim Shady are the same person??! That means that there actually isn't any really Slim Shady that should stand up. (If you haven't heard that song then you'd be terribly confused. "I'm Slim Shady, yes I'm the real Shady. All those other Slim Shadys are just imitating. So won't the real Slim Shady please stand up, please stand up, please stand up...") That sort of blew my mind when I figured it out. If you want to read her blog go here: http://magentalitebulb.blogspot.com/2011/03/real-slim-shady.html

Since my mom just came in with mole vanquishing news I should go. If you didn't know, she's an avid mole hunter in our massive yard. We have a mole issue. Enjoy the rest of your Saturday or whatever other day you're reading this on. Carry a mirror with you to both check your reflection, make up, or nose for stray grossness and to watch out for your enemies from behind.
